Holistic? What does it mean?
by: Dental Assistant Team
I consider myself a Holistic person, as I strive to keep a healthy lifestyle and am determine to live a long healthy life taking in consideration my body, health, mind, spirituality and lifestyle as a whole, and connected.
Holistic health is an ongoing process. It is a choice of lifestyle and a personal commitment with the purpose of achieving wellness.
I also think u need to know your body, and listen to the signs it gives you as the right foods and healthy choices can differ from individuals to individuals based on your overall health, lifestyle, exercice regimen and taste.
It is a conscious choice you make to give your body the best chance at functioning, giving you proper energy, vitality, and ability to heal itself in times of sickness.
So how are we Holistic at Drs Rohrer's practice?
You will find five very different team members, all Holistic in their own way, all passionate about health, loving to share our new superfood finds, or the latest essential oil we just discovered that cured one symptom or another. We love to share our finds which we test them on ourselves first. We all bring different aspects of the wide range of what the Holistic world has to offer.
You mix different nationalities, backgrounds, ethnic foods and you find the Rohrer team's Holistic approach from Ohio, Rochester, Columbia, Belgium and Oklahoma quite an interesting mix.
How do we apply our holistic approach to dentistry?
We use relaxation techniques and breathing exercises rather than nitrous (laughing gas), and rest assured, it does not stop us from giving you a few laughs during your visit. We always find something to laugh about. It is complimentary and always available.
The air in our office is purified by an air filter which runs around the clock, so our patients always breath relaxing, quality air. We also use essential oils to sooth the air for patients who are open to it.
Another holistic aspect to our dental practice is the use of safe amalgam techniques to replace mercury fillings safely and efficiently. When removing amalgam we use a system that isolates the site we work on to help all potential mercury residue to be suctioned out; preventing you from ingesting it. We also give our patients charcoal and chlorella, both supplements would bind to the metal in case of ingestion, and help you eliminate it safely.
We are always available to share our knowledge of the holistic lifestyle and explain how it benefits the overall health of your mouth, gums, and teeth. Beyond our technical knowledge, we will share our personal experiences, books, and other resources with patients who are interested.
