What Is A Doppler Ultrasound

The Doppler Ultrasound
Here at Rohrer Cosmetic Restorative Dentistry we have a technology available that allows us to listen to your jaw joint… our Doppler Ultrasound!
This is a simple test, where the Doctor uses a Doppler Ultrasound to listen to your jaw joints. A healthy joint will be silent; any popping or cracking will indicate some measure of trauma. This examination can help the doctor confirm symptoms or signs of stress in your jaw joint and assist in determining just how severe the damage is.
This is a VERY simple procedure. All we have to do is place a little gel on your cheek, by the joint, and a place a small sensor over the jaw joint. Once the test begins, we can immediately hear what is going on. We usually follow that exam with our Tekscan bite analysis, a new technology which we use more and more. The TekScan gives us a very precise percentage of forces you use on each teeth.
